THE SHOW
Through American Sign Language paired with singing, “SIGNING THE SONG” shares the true story of a boy who grew up in a deaf household with little exposure to TV, radio, or movies. Because of his incredible 8th grade music teacher and the love and support of his parents, he came out of his silent world and discovered his voice through music. Watch how ASL (American Sign Language) and song lyrics meld together into a beautiful unique art form. This one-man show celebrates the incredible impact educators and parents have on each child’s life… regardless of their struggles.

Inspirational

SIGNing the Song’s main purpose is to celebrate and honor the two most important people in a child’s life: Parents & Teachers.

Musically Spectacular

Performed by the phenomenal William Martinez, the show features a mixture of well known songs and a couple originals written specifically for this show.

Interactive

Not only does the audience learn about the deaf culture, but they also learn some American Sign Language at the same time.

Thankful Cam Logo
One person can change the course of another life. Sometimes all it takes is a couple small words of encouragement. In William's case, his 8th grade choir teacher was that inspiring force. During each performance of SIGNING THE SONG William shares the incredible way in which he was able to thank the teacher that changed the course of his life. We started thinking "why doesn't everyone have this opportunity?" Imagine that biology teacher of yours hearing that thanks to her you went on to be a nurse and you are now saving lives. Or a math teacher who inspired you hearing that thanks to his motivation you are now an architect. That's why we invented the Thankful Cam. After every performance of SIGNING THE SONG we invite the audience to tell our Thankful Cam who they are thankful for and why. We edit these videos and post them online so our audience members can then share them with those people that changed their lives.

How can I be a part of this?

Our #thankfulcam hashtag has become a global movement that inspires positive change in social media! We invite you to join this awesome movement of thankfulness! Visit the Thankful Cam page for more info: www.thankfulcam.com.
